Description

The project drives forward the idea of the development of creative industries in Bulgaria insofar as the project aims at developing creative potential and promoting music entrepreneurship so that the economic inclusion of musically talented members of vulnerable groups, including people with visual impairments, can happen. The project meets the need of artists of integrated knowledge and skills, necessary both to create a finished first-class product and self-promote and self-employ themselves. The project provides for various types of support so that these talented people can develop greater confidence and unfold their potential in the creative industry. About 50% of people with visual impairments in Bulgaria choose to develop in the field of music and create audio products but their opportunities to fully participate as independent artists are highly limited. It is mainly lack of financial resources and adapted methodology that hampers access to learning opportunities. The project provides tested integrated and practically-oriented methodology, tailored to the specific needs of artists in the field of music and applied by experienced practitioners and professionals with visual impairments. As a result, the project will support the professional development of 50 talented musicians from vulnerable groups by developing their knowledge and skills, providing them with mentorship and consultations, creating an environment for their promotion among key figures from the music industry and providing teachers and trainers with valuable experience and resources to support talented people.

Summary of project results

The project aimed to support the economic inclusion of young musical talents from vulnerable groups, including people with visual difficulties, by developing their creative potential and complex knowledge and skills needed in the creative industry, as well as promoting music entrepreneurship as a career opportunity.

To achieve this goal, the following activities were realized:

  • a practical training for creating a musical composition in six modules.
  • creative workshops for songwriting, including melody and lyrics.
  • six webinars for developing knowledge and skills for successful teamwork, image building, self-promotion and copyright protection.
  • a program for consulting and mentoring young talents in the production of their original works of music.
  • a concert to present the project’s results - original music products created by the participants within the project.

The project activities involved 58 direct beneficiaries, including young people and people with visual difficulties, who improved key skills and acquired crucial knowledge for creating and promoting a music product. During the project, the following outputs were generated:

- a project webpage built within the main website of the foundation: http://www.vizioner.eu/music-in-me/

- 13 original musical works.

- methodology for practical application of the training programme.

- 15 videos which summarize and supplement the trainings, webinars and creative workshops: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3Qkb0nimSIIj9oS4-oTylw- 13 video business cards of the participants in the concert.

- a video of the final event – a concert

The videos and methodology created during the project can be used by a large number of people working or studying in the field of music. The produced high-quality music products enrich the portfolio of 13 talents, who are free to use the video and audio recordings of their performances to present themselves in front of various audiences. These talents already have a solid foundation of knowledge and skills and are highly motivated to continue their professional development in the music industry. They also have the contacts of professional musicians and producers with whom they can collaborate on their future creative projects.
