Description
The main objective of the project is to contribute to raising awareness and to encourage participation regarding circular economy, resource management, waste reduction and recycling among schools and the general public through development and implementation of educational programmes and campaigns.
This also includes the creation of 6 educational programmes with digital resources suitable for learning in a real and virtual setting, aimed at students from all stages of education to foster knowledge, skills, values and behaviour towards the ecological topics.
The project envisages the development and implementation of educational products and formats outside the classroom such as travelling exhibition, workshops for study groups and individual participants; running campaigns for solving relevant environmental problems; transfer of experience from Norway, implementation of good models and practices in school and in local communities for enhancing knowledge, skills, attitudes and habits for sustainable living.

Summary of project results
The project aimed to raise awareness and encourage the participation regarding resource management, waste reduction and recycling and the circular economy among schools and the population via the development and implementation of educational programmes and campaigns.
The specific objectives of the project were related to the creation and piloting of 6 educational programmes with digital resources, suitable for learning in a real and virtual setting, aimed at students from all stages of education with a view to fostering knowledge, skills, values and behaviour towards waste management, circular economy and responsible consumption; the development and implementation of educational products and formats outside the classroom (travelling exhibition, workshops for study groups and individual participants); conducting campaigns to increase awareness and commitment to solving environmental problems related to resource management, involving a wide range of stakeholders: teachers, students, parents, business, academia, NGOs, local governments, local communities; sharing experience obtained from Norway, implementation of good models and practices in school and in local communities for enhancing knowledge, skills, attitudes and habits for sustainable living (modern model of a science contest, aimed at research and solutions of current environmental problems with application in business, framework school environmental policy, collection of good practices for campaigns).
Within the project activities, educational programmes and good practices from Norway in the field of education for sustainable development with a focus on waste management and circular economy were introduced, analysed and adapted for implementation with specific parameters in the Bulgarian context. There was also a transfer of useful experience in the design of museum exhibits and educational formats from the Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology, which were integrated in the development of a travelling interactive exhibition for experiential learning, dedicated to environment protection and consumption awareness.
Summary of bilateral results
The project is carried out in partnership by 4 schools from Sofia, Veliko Tarnovo and Debren, Muzeiko Children''s Science Centre and the Museum of Science and Technology in Oslo. Drawing on the experience of Norway, 6 programmes for primary and secondary education were created and piloted in at least 9 schools in Bulgaria, integrating modules related to waste management and circular economy in compulsory national curriculum. Developed as e-courses with supplementary digital resources and videos - were implemented in real and virtual setting, they were uploaded in a bilingual website and included in a Moodle platform with free access. No less than 45 campaigns were envisaged for educational organisations and the general public, including: school green teams training, workshops at schools, seminar for teachers, community events, national digital science competition for applied solutions to current environmental problems, creating a travelling interactive exhibition on the route of waste.
