Summary of the results

The bilateral initiative "Therapeutic Music Project for Children with Special Needs" involved collaboration between Imagine Heritage (Greece), Norwegian Culture Break Borders (Norway), and Cerebral Palsy Greece/Open Door. Its main goal was to harness the therapeutic potential of music for children with special needs and promote cultural inclusivity. The initiative included two online workshops on February 23, 2024, and March 29, 2024, which focused on introductory and advanced music therapy techniques. In addition, a series of live workshops were organized, where children from Cerebral Palsy Greece/Open Door engaged in hands-on music activities. A Music Therapy event titled "Harmony in Progress: Music Therapy" was also hosted, featuring children with special needs alongside students from the Platon Private School. Experts from both Greece and Norway, including music therapists, educators, physiotherapists, and cultural practitioners, participated in the project, fostering cross-cultural exchange and knowledge sharing. To raise awareness about the initiative, an online platform, art4inclusion.com, was developed, supported by live streaming, social media campaigns, and dedicated websites. A documentary was filmed and professionally edited, showcasing the impact of music therapy.
