Description
The purpose of this Project is to establish a model environmental Centre for Central and Eastern Europe, with the overall objective of improving the environment in Central and Eastern Europe. Reference is made to the application dated 12 November 2007 and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - renovating the facade of the existing environmental conference centre for improved insulation; - replacement of windows for energy efficiency; - fitting the facade with solar panels: PV solar cells; - replacing the existing lighting system to take advantage of natural light and reduce energy costs; - creating a system to make use of thermal energy for heating purposes; - replacement and modernization of the heating and ventilation system at the conference centre; - management, promotion, publicity of the project. The Project Promoter is the Regional Environment Center for Central and Eastern Europe. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 51 percent of the total estimated eligible Project costs.
