Description
The project "Volunteer for children and young people with autism" coordinated by Defeating Autism Association has as objectives the development of the association volunteers team with at least 50 persons, with the focus on the diversity of age and social groups. The volunteers are involved in the activities and the social services provided by the association for its beneficiaries. The project aims to reduce the discrimination of children and young people with autism in order to strengthen the school integration, with the involvement of volunteer supporters of the association, with an important contribution to the organizational development and sustainability. The expected results of the project refer to the active citizenship promotion within all volunteers' categories, the development of sustainable partnerships, promotion of human education right of persons with autism and reducing the discrimination and hate speech, NGOs building capacity and strengthening the capacity of vulnerable groups (beneficiaries of social services and volunteers)
Summary of project results
The project was interrupted on March 1, 2015, when the Promoter announced that it was unable to implement the activities and didn't spend any of the amounts received as an advance payment. The Operator organised a meeting with the Promoter's representatives to discuss possible solutions and further actions. After the meeting, the Promoter announced the Operator that the organisation wants to cancel the contract. A notification was sent to the Promoter, stating that that the financing contract ends starting with March 1, 2015, due to both failure to comply with the Annex 3 - General Conditions for the financing contracts (article 12.5), and the Promoter's wish to terminate the project. The amount received as an advance payment was fully reimbursed to the Fund Operator.
