Description

The project ”Public-private partnership for autonomous families” is promoted by Fundatia Dezvoltarea Popoarelor in partnership with DGASPC sector 3 Bucharest and two social enterprises: SC Proiect Mozaic SRL and Asociatia Touched Romania. The project aims to create a complex center of integrated services provided in public-private partnership for 100 persons at risk of social exclusion (young people post institutionalized, single mothers and single parents without revenues) from Bucharest-Ilfov. The expected results: a functional center of integrated services starting the 3rd month; improved parenting competences for 100 persons; 100 persons benefiting vocational guidance/counseling services; 50 persons benefiting job insertion services; 15 persons employed by the end of the project; 22 persons integrated in educational workshops/job insertion internships; 15 mothers certified as baby sitter; 15 young people with developed independent life skills (especially those post institutionalized); at least 50 parents benefiting child supervision services.

Summary of project results

The project addresses vulnerable families, with a focus on single parent families, post-institutionalised young people who became parents, unemployed and parents with a low level of education. Studies show that 20% of families are single parent ones. In 85% of the single parent families the parent is not employed. 50% of these families face dwelling issues, the most important being lack of adequate heating. More than 80% of single parent families depend on state subsidies. In order to approach these issues, through the project was created a Centre of integrated services provided in public-private partnership, targeting young post-institutionalised people, single mothers and single parents without income from Bucharest-Ilfov. Evaluations were conducted for 98 beneficiaries; they received specialised support according to identified needs. 98 persons benefited of vocational counselling, 34 benefited of psychological counselling and 54 received parental education guidance. 15 beneficiaries got employed. 35 beneficiaries were supported to develop skills for an independent life. 14 persons were qualified as baby sitter. 50 children took part in the activities of the centre and benefited of specialised care, educational and recreational activities. A pre-feasibility study was conducted in order to explore the opportunities to set a social economy entity and the promoter is looking for funds to develop a unit for training and placement of baby sitters.
