Summary of project results

The "Be part of Diversity" project brought together members of 9 IMPACT clubs of the New Horizons Foundation - the project Partner - from different regions of the country that succeeded, alongside with A.R.T. Fusion Association (the Promoter), to manage a national antidiscrimination campaign that mobilized people from each community who got the message to respect the human rights, diversity and to break down prejudices and discrimination. The theme of this campaign was a huge challenge for the 96 IMPACT Club youth who were directly involved in the project. Many of them (except senior leaders) didn’t have so far the opportunity to prepare or support activities of this kind - either because there were no projects organized on this subject, or because it was difficult for them to address this issue of acceptance diversity and of combating discrimination without having proper methods and specialized guidance. This has been the need of the project – to guide the young people from the IMPACT clubs to be courageous and to give then confidence to fight both for their rights and also for those around them when they can see that are not respected. In order to organise diversity campaigns, two methods of non-formal education were used: Human Library and Street Animation. Before applying these methods in each community, the IMPACT clubs members participated to trainings and meeting on how to use them. When applying these methods members came closer to the people in their community, more near them. They experienced intense emotion while organising the Human Libraries and courage given by the Street Campaigns. Preparation of the activities was very intense so the IMPACT members have been involved both personally (behavioural changes were seen along the way) but also professionally, regarding their role and responsibilities within the clubs or activities. After all campaigns were organised they developed a resources pack that contains a collection of stories from the Human Library, a sociological report about Human Library and a Street Campaign. A blog was created for the project, where all the stories, resources and information about the project are available for the public: http://artfusion.ro/fiiparteladiversitate/.
