Description

This project aims to promote employability, enhance civic participation and inclusion of young people, particularly those in situations of greater vulnerability. National and local employment support measures do not take into account the distinctive context of the young people who, within the scope of this project, will benefit from close monitoring targeting the various dimensions (social, psychological, familial, economic, educational) of their problems. The project will include the creation of 7 Collaborative Networks for Local Youth Employment in different parts of the country, through which these young people will be engaged to develop their skills and promote their integration in the labour market. The promoter will rely on the collaboration of seven local organizations with experience in tackling unemployment on their local contexts.

Summary of project results

Young people with income generation needs or with weak social integration skills is vulnerable and require especial support from the society in order to avoid deviant behaviours and find appropriate ways to ensure full inclusion. Its low employability or integration may result from multiple factors: low schooling / qualifications, low density rural areas with little employment opportunities, unstructured families, mobility constraints, demotivation, social exclusion, poverty, etc. These factors are often boosted by the fact that national and local employment support measures do not take into account the distinctive context of each young person. A proximity/close follow-up of this target group, based on collaborative practices implemented by the model of Collaborative Networks of Local Youth Employment, via action-training and empowerment, can contribute to the implementation of new practices and methodologies working the various dimensions of the problem (social, psychological, family, economic, school ...) and increasing the employability of young people. 192 vulnerable young people have participated in formal and on-formal training and coaching actions for employability and 162 have acquired new skills and knowledge on entrepreneurship; they own now new tools to integrate the labour market. As a result, 46 of those young people are currently employed or self-employed. In total 844 young adults were involved in the project and are now better prepared for a successful social, educational and social integration in the community. 7 new collaborative networks of local youth employment were created in six territories generating empowerment of the young people and new forms of governance of the employment issues. These figures have surpassed the initial targets.
