Description

Project description: UrDruk is a printing house. The project objective is to implement the alcohol-free printing system and the print management system. Another part of this project is the installation of LED lighting in the company to reduce power consumption. Thanks to the purchase of fixed assets, intangible assets and R&D the company will be able to reduce chemical and paper waste generated during the printing process. Partners: The project will be implemented in cooperation with Beyond Compare, 8$8, Inspirion, Palma press and Piksel, Hasta,Tempur. Project objectives: • Introduction of innovations in the production process • Reduction of chemical and paper waste generated during the printing process • Realization of business opportunities of greening the European economy. Outcome indicators: • Number of environmental technologies successfully applied for use in new areas - 1 • Reduction in CO2 emissions – 10 tones/ year

Summary of project results

The objective of the project carried out in UrDruk printing house was to implement a new, environmental friendly printing process and to install LED lighting in the company in order to reduce energy consumption. The investments made, including the implemented research and development works, will lead to chemical waste reduction and lower consumption of paper. Investment results in reduction of CO2 by 10 tones/year and also ink (173 kg/year). An important green effect is a total elimination of alcohol in printing process (reduction by 480 kg/year).
