Description

The main problem area in Olecko are external factors of death including mental illnesses, alcohol, and stress. The strategic objective for this project is to improve the quality of public health management. The operational objective is to acquire the knowledge of psychosocial risks and skills to reduce those risks as well as to increase the public awareness of that kind of health risks. The goal is also to enhance the accessibility to multidisciplinary help for citizens of Olecko poviat. The following measures have been planned: establishing the local Good Practice patterns within the management of psychosocial risk; educational events; methods of dealing with stress and emotions, pastime activities, stress reduction techniques, assertiveness, burnout, discrimination and mobbing, techniques of resolving conflicts, peer pressure, cyberbullying and violence, safety on roads (particularly children), alcohol consumption, first aid, etc.; actions aimed at lifelong learning (postgraduate studies, qualification and learning courses). The project is targeted at the general population of Olecko poviat.

Summary of project results

The PL13-0004 project called Health, joy of life and longlife programme for citizens of Olecko Poviat was implemented by Olecko District Authorities from December 2014 till April 2016. The objective of the project was to improve the quality of healthcare in Olecko Poviat as to decrease the morbidity and mortality rates caused by external factors which result in preventing/or diminishing lifestyle related diseases. The project was implemented successfully – all project results and indicators are achieved, some are even exceeded. Main target groups: 1. Main target group – people from 5 public bodies who participated in a pilot operation, called Psychosocial risk management; healthcare sector personnel; people with mental disorders, addicted and co-addicted;victims of accidents, injuries; pregnant women, mothers of up to 3-months infants;people with mental disorders; unemployed, disabled. Activities implemented: 1. PSYCHOSOCIAL RISK MANAGEMENT( pilot operation conducted among five public institutions). 2. HEALTH PROMOTION IN THE SCOPE OF EXTERNAL FACTORS OF INCIDENCE AND MORTALITY a) Educational meetings; broadening knowledge, skills and rising the awareness b) Information-promotional Health Campaigns; health-topic contests. 3. DISEASE AND MORTALITY PROPHYLAXIS CAUSED BY EXTERNAL FACTORS a) Strengthen the potential of medical personnel who work with/for population. b) Prevention, early-diagnosis, stopping the advancing disease I Mental Health Clinic services ( Local Team of Mental Health Support), II Rehabilitation services, III Birth-School services IV Services of lawyer, legal adviser in Legal-Civil Centre, V Local Center of Stress Reduction, VI Relaxation and physical activity classes. Main products of the project: Information-Promotional Conferences: 3 Health Campaigns/Information-Promotional Campaigns: 3 Contests for children and teenagers: 9 The purchase of equipment, materials, teaching materials: 8260 Mental Health Clinic services: 17080 units(days and people) Rehabilitation services for victims of accidents, injuries: 5193 Number of people participating in health promotion programmes, including the participants of health promotion actions: 7377 Number of people participating in prophylaxis programmes, including the participants of health promotion actions : 2425 The project was implemented independently, without partnership and the support of the Fund for Bilateral Relations.
