NILU is an institution that in the past 15 years has led several large-scale projects in the field of air quality tests and maintenance of cultural heritage. The partner was responsible for the scientific research part in the Dragon’s Den and in the neighbouring Reserve. This consisted of a microclimatic study; a survey and analysis of the technical documentation on the climatic conditions and occurring issues related to climate and ventilation protection. The partner developed a detailed plan of a measurement campaign involving a “Map” of climatic conditions in relation to the issues of archaeological heritage preservation, selection of the right study method. Moreover, NILU designed the monitoring of ambient conditions: temperature and humidity, LUX and UV intensity, measurements of the levels of concentration of ozone, sulphur and nitrogen dioxide using innovative EWO dosimeters.
