Description

The need for the project stems from the fact the Museum of Agriculture in Ciechanowiec has not a unified and modern system of documentation and monitoring of its architectural timber objects, what can pose a serious threat to maintenance of the objects in the future. The goal of the project is to elaborate modern standards of managing timber objects in scope of documentation and monitoring their condition. During the project there will be organized activities with aims: identification of current standards for documentation and monitoring of timber objects in Poland and Norway, development of models of monitoring, preparing and using the computer application for technical inspections. Durable products of the project will be: scientific publication summarizing project, software application for monitoring and documentation of wooden buildings, 4 experts reports, template of object record with manual. Use of modern and adapted to museums needs procedures and standards, management of the timber facilities will be much more effective. Results of the project will be available to all interested units dealing with protection of wooden objects.

Summary of bilateral results

The project partner - Ryfylke Museum deals with architectural timber heritage. Its tasks included: the organization of seminar for the representatives of our museum on the Norwegian models for documentation and monitoring of wooden buildings, the participation of the seminars on archiving standards and in the conference summarizing the operation and its contribution to the preparation of the publication. Both museums express will to cooperate also after completion of the project inscope of artistic and folk events and strenghten bilateral ties.
