Summary of project results

The immediate objective of the project was the creation of the first Interactive Theatre Museum in Poland - Centre for Theatre Education (MICET). The project stemed from the need to adapt the Stary Teatr Museum to modern trends in museology and was technically justified by the necessity to renovate and reconstruct the historic cellars, which had beenin poor technical condition. The project also resulted from the need for the development of the educational offer of the Stary Teatr Museum and adapt it to the needs of increasingly demanding customers. MICET combines the functions of a museum and an education center. As a museum, it presents the history of the Old Theater since its inception at the end of the 18th century, documenting the evolution of Polish art and culture and the work of prominent artists of the national stage. As an educational center, it uses historical material to create workshop programs. The open form of education, which consists of the joint activities of artists and viewers, enables not only the acquisition of knowledge in the field of art, but also the understanding of the processes shaping our reality and interpersonal relations. The basic objectives of MICET are: education in culture and culture of action in the community, integration and equalization of opportunities, enhancement of professional skills facilitating entry into the labor market, research, exchange of knowledge and experience. MICET creates educational programs for children (MiniMICET), pupils and teachers of primary and secondary education (MICET Edu), for students and lecturers of higher education (MICET LAB), conducts trainings with artists (Master Class), meetings with seniors (Collecting theatrical memoirs ) and foreigners (Nice to MICET you). Running MICET Theater increased employment by 3 and 1/2 job opportunities (educators, promotion, cashier, technical support). Innovative interactive exhibits concern: acting, directing, stage design, music. The paths of the tour are divided into workshops (space, costume, director, actor, composer), thematic (FREEDOMS, WE/THEM, EMOTIONS, BODY, NEW), and a path for children. MICET was visited, from 13.12.2016 to 30.06.2017, by 13,816 people (including MICET tickets for 4035 people, as tickets for performances at the Old Theater 9781). During that time 92 events were organized, with 1947 participants.
