Summary of project results

Given the low level of awareness related to health issues, especially in the area of sexual and reproductive health, the project has contributed to improve knowledge and encourage responsible behavior. The activities related to the creation of self-sustaining and information groups, as well as the developed information and promotional materials, had a particularly strong impact. As part of the project's implementation, this has led to increased demand for medical services. The provision of medical services was successful as the engaged medical professionals were experienced and motivated to carry out their tasks. The quantitative distribution of medical services was dependent on the size of the target population. Within the framework of the project, the following activities were carried out with information on the participants and the horizontal policy achievements of the project:  - Gynecological examinations performed on 300 women - 64% or 192 are of Roma origin.  - Medical examinations of 600 children and young people - 68% or 408 are of Roma origin.  - Blood tests performed on 900 children and adolescents - 59% or 532 are of Roma origin.  - Psychological counseling conducted on 25 children and young people from high-risk groups - 44% or 11 are of Roma origin.  - Educational events among 903 women, young people and students - 56% or 528 are of Roma origin. From a sustainability viewpoint, the following project activities were achieved and envisaged: • Raising awareness of specific health issues related to sexual health and culture, drug use and family planning. Therefore, all the benchmarks set for the project have been met. • Active participation of all stakeholders. This includes key stakeholders from the target communities, representatives of municipalities and medical professionals. This led to an increased demand for medical services. The overall objective of the project to improve awareness of sexual and reproductive health issues and to provide access to quality services in these areas for adolescents from vulnerable ethnic and social groups in remote and small settlements in the Razgrad district was achieved.
