Summary of project results

The project addressed the need for social inclusion and emotional development of children with special educational needs (SEN) in Targovishte District. The project activities included the use of drama as therapy in the work with 17 children with SEN. Their involvement in the project made them feel useful, important and happy. Costumes, puppets, theatre sets and props were created under the project and a performance of Andersen’s fairy tale The Ugly Duckling was delivered. The project helped the Children of Targovishte Association acquire greater experience in project management, targeted at working with children with SEN. Many useful contacts were made under the project. The project achieved its goals to enable children with SEN to express themselves with the help of art and personal involvement in the creative process.
