Second, the recording studio will be equipped with the necessary devices. Third, the project will be promoted in the social media, on Facebook, YouTube and in the partner’s network. Next, the web portal will be officially presented to the media and to the Roma community, Roma students in particular. The project will benefit the Roma community by providing the Roma with a forum to express their opinions. The partner will provide logistical and administrative support.

Summary of project results

The project aimed at creating a media website to meet the need of objective media coverage of the Roma as well as invest in educated young Roma who are motivated to work as journalists thus helping them to achieve their potential, find jobs and work for the public and themselves. The long-term goal was to place and broadcast Sharen Kon (The Motley Horse) Roma TV show on national air. Sharen Kon media platform (www.sharenkon.com) was launched under the project and many video and printed materials were created and broadcast via the platform: more than 30 videos were published with sketches, reportage, interviews and more than 100 photos were created. The platform has developed and maintains the following permanent sections: Roma News at a Trot – more than 100 short pieces of news; At a Gallop – 32 copyrighted texts and video materials, i.e. commentaries, analyses, interviews, reportage; In the Underground of the Soul – 32 copyrighted materials, reports; Bet-bet – 32 reports and interviews; Editor’s Choice – 64 journalistic materials; News from the Media – more than 100 selected journalistic materials from the media. Sharen Kon pilot TV show was filmed under the project. The team will apply with the TV show to the Bulgarian National Television and the Bulgarian National Radio to have the show broadcast on the national air which is an important achievement of the project. The short movie called It’s Shopping Time was filmed and aired at a public event on 10.12.2015. Sharen Kon aims at voicing the problems of the Roma as well as explaining to the Roma community the priorities of the political programmes related to them, why the Roma need them and how the Roma can also support the integration. The specific approach to present information aims at launching the process of learning and continuity.
