Summary of project results

The project addressed the irregular and chaotic involvement of people in volunteering in the town of Dimitrovgrad. The project promoted volunteering through training of volunteers and as a result of its activities 22 new volunteers from different age groups, 8 of them above 29, were attracted and trained as volunteers. They continue to be actively involved in the implementation of the activities of the Foundation. The volunteers were referred to cultural and social institutions where they could help with voluntary work after they had been trained and briefed and in according to schedules prepared and coordinated in advance. Each of the volunteers had the opportunity to choose the venue or venues for scheduled volunteering as well as join the events organized by the foundation and the institutions in the city. Give a Smile Foundation which is a member of the network of the National Alliance for Volunteer Action aims at further developing its activity as a centre for attracting and training volunteers to contribute with voluntary work in various institutions as well as attract in turn new people to promote volunteering.
