Description

The town of Nysa with its almost 50,000 inhabitants entered in partnership with neighbouring 13 municipalities and three local districts to address jointly current and future development challenges. The ‘Nysa partnership’ looks at development, transport, labour and social issues that affect not only the town of Nysa but also the immediate vicinity of almost 250,000 inhabitants. The project aims to create mechanisms for long-term cooperation. A working group will assess strategies to tackle issues in the area of transport, labour market and the social development. The project is expected to stimulate development not only in a large part of the region but also across the nearby Czech border.

Summary of project results

Within the project have been developed the following documents: 1. Strategy for the Development of the Partnership Nyskie 2020 Functional Area 2. Labour Market Strategy the Partnership Nyskie 2020 Functional Area 3. Strategy for Social Development of the Partnership Nyskie 2020 Functional Area 4. Transport Development Strategy for the Partnership Nyskie 2020 Functional Area Output indicators have been achieved as planned. Extras developed concept of the Integrated Public Transport System for Functional Area Partnership Nyskie 2020 has been developed as additional product . Its final version was adopted with resolutions by all the partners, which contributed to the strengthening of the overall objective of the project: producing mechanisms of long-term cooperation in the joint detection and resolution of problems of the kind that goes beyond the boundaries of the municipality, ie. the action at the level of supra-local - 17 additional resolutions. The project assumes the following result: taking residents of functional area strategies, which will provide a starting point to begin the process of solving problems in the areas of transport, labor market and wider social development - the population of the functional area that has gained access to the Project (residents) value base 0, the target value of 234000, the value reached 233,144 people. The index value of less than 856 people expected. This situation is associated with the general trend of depopulation and declining population in Europe and Poland. Additionally Opole province is the region where depopulation has the sharpest course in Poland. Generally overall objective, results and products of the project have been achieved. Adopted strategic documents and concept will allow partners on the joint implementation of supra-local and allow applying for external funding for. An undoubted achievement of the project is the fact that the partnership will continue its activities for the functional area. On February 9, 2016 was held a founding meeting of the Association of South Subregion. The Association brings together three districts: Nysa, Głubczyce, Prudnice and 12 municipalities: Nysa, Paczków Otmuchów, Głuchołazy, Korfantów, Skoroszyce, Pakosławice, Łambinowice, Lubrza, Prudnik and Głubczyce Branice. In the near future following municipalities: Grodków, White and Kietrz will join the Association.
