Description

The aim of the project is to found and support further functioning and development of the Centre for Monitoring Racist and Xenophobic Activities, an effective tool for strengthening monitoring, preventing and fighting expressions of discrimination, hate, racist indoctrination of youth as well as supporting, promoting and developing tolerance. The Centre’s activities will be carried out in three fields: statistical (compilation of a tool to collect and analise data on hate crimes an interventions taken), preventative-educational (workshops in schools and 2 murals in Bialystok) and operational (monitoring of events in Bialystok and hate speach in the internet), firstly in the region of Podlasie (northeastern Poland), later in the entire country. All of the activities would be widespread in local media.

Summary of project results

The agreement has been terminated due to the irregularities concerning expenditures of the grant. The organization has been requested to return the amount spent incorrectly. As the amount was not returned. All available legal measures were applied to recover requested amount. The bailiff recovered only €110 and finally he decided to discontinue enforcement proceedings due to its ineffectiveness.
