Description
The reason for the project is the target of the company EDF Toruń S.A. to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, nitric oxide and dust in the atmosphere, to be achieved through the construction of two new gas powered cogeneration units with gas turbines (50 MWe each). The main objective of the project is to reduce emissions of air pollutants, carbon dioxide in particular, but also sulfur dioxide nitric oxide and dust, generated by EDF Toruń. EDF Toruń intends to reduce CO2 emissions by 124 116,58 Mg/per year compared to the current level, and to reduce emissions of other air pollutants (sulfur dioxide nitric oxide and dust). In order to solve the problem of polluting emissions, EDF Toruń plans to build two new gas powered cogeneration units with gas turbines. These are going to replace the coal based power generating facilities used up till now. The project will be beneficial to the environment, the company, and residents of the surrounding area, as well as to the national economy.
