Description
The project is needed in order to adapt an energy intensive public building to modern, energy-saving solutions. The aim is to reduce the energy intensity and heating costs of the school complex in Chodow, thereby also limiting its negative impact on the surrounding environment. This will be achieved through the installation of thermal insulation, the replacement of windows and doors, the conversion of the heating system into one operating on biomass, modernization of the lighting system, installation of a ventilation system that uses a regenerative heat exchanger, and the installation of an automatic control system. The expected results of the project include increased energy efficiency, a decrease in the costs of heating, and a reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere (approx. 899 Mg/year). The main beneficiaries will be the local council and the local and school communities.
Summary of project results
The implementation of the project contributed to the reduction of CO2 by 899.99 Mg / year and the production of energy from renewable energy sources in the size of 379.45 MWh / year. The project has resulted in the thermo-modernization of one school building, in which the insulated bulkhead replaced windows and doors (229 windows and 14 door were replaced; over 6 thousands m2 of partition were insulated), upgraded central heating system, installed 2 biomass boilers, modernized ventilation system with heat recovery (recuperation). Installed was system for heat regulation which helps to make building more energy efficient. Project has aroused huge interest among local community and authorities from other municipalites (who wanted to implement likewise activities). The Beneficiary emphasized that thanks to projects learning conditions have been significantly improved.
