Description

The need for the project stems from the necessity to improve the energy performance of public buildings, which will reduce the need for heating and consequently reduce heating costs. The aim of the project is to improve the energy efficiency of public buildings in the area of Rzeszow city. The expected results and deliverables of the project include: i) the number of buildings undergoing thermomodernisation - 3; ii) total reduction of the demand for heat - 8062.3 Gj/year; iii) total reduction of the demand for electrical energy - 134,238.84 MWh/year; iv) number of energy produced from renewable sources - 15,84 Gj/year. The aim of the project will be achieved through the following actions: Thermo-modernisation of the primary school building and nursery unit no. 5 and 6 in Rzeszow and improved energy efficiency of primary school building no. 25 and secondary school building no. 11 in Rzeszow. In the context of local air protection the main target group benefitting from the project are the inhabitants of the city of Rzeszow and the surrounding area. Projects material scope has been extended, additional works have been co-financed under EEA fund

Summary of project results

The need for the project stemed from the necessity to improve the energy performance of public buildings, which reduce the need for heating and consequently reduce heating costs. The aim of the project was to improve the energy efficiency of public buildings in the area of Rzeszow city. Thermomodernisational works covered 8 public utility buildings (including schools and kindergartens). Within the project over 48 thousands of m2 of partition were insulated, windows and doors were replaced. Installed were solar collectors and photovoltaic cells. Interior installations were modernised and interior lighting was exchanged for ecological one. Investment allowed to reduce CO2 emission (3348 Mg/year). Projects material scope has been extended, additional works have been co-financed under EEA fund. In the context of local air protection the main target group benefitting from the project are the inhabitants of the city of Rzeszow and the surrounding area.
