Description

The project is needed because of the necessity to reduce pollution by reducing the so-called low emission. Complex thermal insulation of buildings is the least expensive solution for implementing low-carbon economy. Primary School No. 9 and Elementary School No. 12 in Debica have high heat transfer coefficients for external walls and windows, and the condition of the internal central heating system is bad. It consumes too much energy to maintain proper comfort. The main aim of the project is to improve the energy efficiency of public buildings for the needs of education through complex thermal modernization of buildings and replacement of existing heat sources with the installation of heat pumps. Increasing energy efficiency will reduce need for thermal and electrical energy and the reduction of pollutants into the atmosphere. Thanks to the project the following results will be achieved:the annual demand for thermal energy will reduce, CO2 will be reduced, the amount of energy produced from renewable sources will increase. Project operations after their implementation will affect: reduce the annual demand for thermal energy by 1 489.936 MWh / year, and the value of energy saved will amount to 317 990.28 zł per year, reducing CO2 emissions by 583.23 tons per year, increase the amount of energy produced from renewable energy sources by 17.08 MWh per year. Benefits of the Project will be primarily taken by residents of the City of Debica especially the students, their parents and the staff of schools covered by the Project. After implementation of the project there will be cost savings that will allow the Municipality Authorities to continue activities to reduce low emission of greenhouse gases. Projects material scope has been extended, additional works have been co-financed under NFM

Summary of project results

The project was needed because of the necessity to reduce pollution by reducing 'low emission'. Complex thermal insulation of buildings is the least expensive solution for implementing low-carbon economy. The main aim of the project was to improve the energy efficiency of public buildings for the needs of education through complex thermal modernization and replacement of existing heat sources with the installation of heat pumps. Increasing energy efficiency reduces need for thermal and electrical energy and reduces pollutants emission into the atmosphere. Thermomodernisational works covered 5 eductaional buildings. Within the project over 13,9 thousands of m2 of partition were insulated, almost 500 windows and doors were replaced. Modernised were interior installations, heat pumps were installed. Interior lighting was exchanged for ecological one. Investment allowed to reduce CO2 emission (945 Mg/year). Benefits of the project are primarily taken by residents of the City of Debica, especially the students, their parents and the staff of schools covered by the project. After implementation of the project there will be cost savings that will allow the Municipality authorities to continue activities to reduce low emission of greenhouse gases. Projects material scope has been extended, additional works have been co-financed under NFM
