Description

The white stork is a rare and protected species, but many people don’t know the white stork behavior's and protection methods. The lack of knowledge is a potential threat for the stork, therefore we aim to inform about its protection. The objective of the project is to raise social awareness concerning the significance of the White Stork protection. The project’s aim is to show the importance of biodiversity and endangered species protection by means of a campaign aimed at a a wide target group. The project will address these challenges by organising conferences, events, workshops, folders and a website. Their aim is to teach people about the storks, its habitats, behavior and protection methods. About 150 000 recipients are expected to increase their knowledge of protection of biological and ecosystem diversity.

Summary of project results

The overall objective of the project has been achieved. All project indicators have been achieved. Indicator Target - The number of people who have participated in educational activities and promoting biodiversity conservation has reached the planned value (161 137 people). The planned value was also achieved by the number of non-governmental organizations implementing biodiversity conservation measures (2). Result of the project pn. The development of ecological attitudes through education and promotion of the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity has also been achieved. The number of people who got acquainted with the topic of the campaign reached the planned value (214 951). The number of people who took part in the training has reached the planned value (8099 people). During conferences, seminars and workshops, the total number of participants was 13,000. Information materials (leaflets, brochures) were printed in 13,000 copies. The project website was visited by 53,814 recipients.
