Description

White stork is rare and protected species, but people don’t know its behavior and protection methods. Ignorance causes threat for the stork, so we should inform about its protection. The objective of the project is to raise social awareness of biological diversity among the inhabitants of Kujawy-Pomerania, Warmia-Mazury and Wielkopolska voivodships. The project’s aim is to show the importance of biodiversity and stress the need for the protection of endangered species by means of campaign meant for a wide target group. There will be an educational film produced, education paths will be created, guides and promotional leaflets shall be designed and printed during the implementation of the project. At least 25 000 people will benefit from the education campaign provided by the project.

Summary of project results

All activities planned within the project have been implemented, the final report has been approved. Results of implementation of the entire project: Increased awareness of and education in biodiversity and ecosystem services, including awareness of and education in the linkage between biodiversity and climate change, and economic valuation of ecosystems; development of social attitudes and ecological behavior and increase public involvement in the protection of biodiversity and ecosystems. Within the project the following activities were implemented: workshops, trainings, conferences, promotional publications, competitions; creation of the five educational paths (length: 53 000 meters), publication of the educational materials and the website. Biodiversity conservation measures were implemented by one non-governmental organization.
