Description

Tatra National Park is visited by about 3 millions tourists yearly. Problems such as littering, changing animal behaviour and water pollution are related to this tourism. In order to counter these issues, we want to educate the public about the consequences of inconsiderate behaviour. The main objective is to create a basis for ecological education. The project aims to achieve the following: the construction of a 3-D model of the Tatra Mountains, the production of 11 informational films presenting the main issues of environmental protection, the construction of a modern lecture room in the visitor’s centre, and the development of 22 computer games. The model of the Tatras will allow people to see the topography of the highest mountains in Poland, while the films will explain the rules that should be obeyed in the park. The computer games and the lecture room will provide the possibility to teach people about the Tatras while having fun. The beneficiaries of the project include the visitors of the Tatra National Park and the local community in and around the park. The visitor’s centre will also be a perfect tool of education for mountain guides and teachers.
