Description
The Project focuses on strengthening the Latvian civil society and the Foundation's administrative capacity. The project will facilitate functioning of the Foundation's administration, create a website and update information,attract new participants, develop the activity strategy, purchase equipment and inventory, exchange experience, promote involvement of civil society in strengthening democracy. There will be interest clubs and a library/reading room established, cultural education seminars an English and Norwegian language courses organized. The project will ensure participation in discussing political documents and promotion of volunteering. It will establish a religious tourism route in Riga and prepare a work program for people with disabilities. Target group: NGO members, vulnerable groups
Summary of project results
The foundation identified the following needs and concerns, which are intended to be solved by implementing the measures of the program. It is necessary to: • ensure the capacity of the foundation’s projects, • improve and update the website
www.gertrudesfonds.lv • have modern equipment for the preparation and dissemination of information (computer) as well as printing equipment and sound equipment for different events, • attract participants who engage in foundation’s activities, • attract volunteers and train them within the activities of the foundation, • repair the rooms of the soup kitchen, • continue the free English courses and start the Norwegian language course • get involved in NGO’s networks, maintain communication and participate in discussion on documents, • create a sacred attraction program for the young people, • make youngsters think about polite comment on the internet environment, • create a program for people with special needs in order to integrate them into society.. All these problems and needs hinder the good aim to implement the national rules of the policy documents in order the society could participate. Within the project new website for the foundation was created
www.gertrudesfonds.lv which disseminates information on the activities. The long-term aim of the program was supported activities of an NGO for public benefit. By implementing the project the goal was reached.
