Description

The aim of the project is to maintain and develop Dardedze’s current activities involving society in various levels of decision-making process so to ensure sustainable child rights protection system focusing on a child and its needs. The project focus is on promoting legislation amendments regarding human safety, cooperation with other NGOs, promoting human safety policy in municipalities, childcare institutions, universities, healthcare, cooperation with young people developing anti-mobbing activities, involving parents (fathers) in training and child-raising implementing specialist training and researches, involving volunteers, implementing campaigns and inter-institutional cooperation, organising a conference and other information and publicity measures. The project will result in regular involvement in policy planning and decision-making processes, development of new strategies, and support measures. Summary of project results

The aim of the project: to maintain and develop Dardedze’s current activities involving society in various levels of decision-making process so to ensure sustainable child rights protection system focusing on a child and its needs. The project focus is on promoting legislation amendments regarding human safety, cooperation with other NGOs, promoting human safety policy in municipalities, childcare institutions, universities, healthcare, cooperation with young people developing anti-mobbing activities, involving parents (fathers) in training and child-raising implementing specialist training and researches, involving volunteers, implementing campaigns and inter-institutional cooperation, organizing a conference and other information and publicity measures. The place of implementation of the project: Latvia The results of the Project: • To represent the interests of children as victims the National Council and the union Latvian Children’s Welfare Network have been setup. • During the project Dardedze has organized three annual international conferences which brought together more than 200 social professionals each year. • A booklet of the program “Safe Foundation” and a handbook “Guide to Raising a Teenager” have been developed. The handbook is printed in 250 copies and available to teen program managers. Also several printed materials of the program Dzimba, which all are used in Dzimba safety classes, have been developed. One program and one methodological material for kindergarten teachers have been developed to build children safe educational institution for children. The program “Support Group for School Children who are Victims of Violence” has been developed and piloted. • Latvian media Dardedze has organized three public information campaigns: Being a Father – It is an Art, One in Five and An Art for Interrogate a Child – a Step Forward in Obtaining Important Evidence in Criminal Proceeding. Target group: 55 volunteers, 3976 children, 634 young and 500 students, families (especially men), 556 educators, 232 social specialists, 75 health workers, 69 representatives of NGO’s and 365 representatives of municipalities. The target group has received support and attended training seminars, workshops of prevence programs and other events organized by Dardedze. Latvian Children’s Fund, a partner of the Project, has played a vital role in reaching the overall project objectivities.
