Description

It is a general directive in Europe, that the amount of landfilled hazardous waste should be reduced. The aim of the planned project is to realize an improved waste management in the ÉMK Ltd. The cinder from the hazardous waste incineration plant contains significant amount of ferrous metals. These ferrous metals can be separated from the cinder, so the quantity of the land filled wastes can be reduced. The results of the project are the construction of a new cinder treatment technology, which can help to reduce the amount of the landfilled hazardous wastes, and the recycling of the ferrous metals, as a valuable raw material. On the other hand, the separated ferrous metals can be recycled, so it is also an advantage and environmentally friendly solution. The results of the project are the increased income by selling the ferrous materials removed from cinder and the reduction of the amount of the landfilled cinder. Thus the landfill -tax can be reduced and more over the reduction of the transportation cost also results less air and soil pollution.

Summary of project results

It is a general directive in Europe, that the landfilled hazardous waste amount should be reduced. The aim of the planned project was to realize an improved waste management in the ÉMK Ltd. The bottom ash from the hazardous waste incineration plant contains ferrous metals with relevant amount, these ferrous metals can be separated from the bottom ash, so the amount of the land filled wastes can be reduced. The results of the project are the construction of a new bottom ash treatment technology, which can help to reduce the amount of the landfilled hazardous wastes, and the recycling of the ferrous metals, as a valuable raw material. On the other hand, the separated ferrous metals can be recycled, so it is also an advantage and environmental friendly solution. The results of the project are the increased income by selling the ferrous materials removed from bottom ash and the reduction of the amount of the landfilled bottom ash thus the landfill -tax can be reduced and more over the reduction of the transportation cost also results less air and soil pollution.
