Because of the intensive change in the trends of drug use the professionals working with drug users are in the lack of information. Synthetic cannabionids became one of the most frequently used psychoactive substances. The aim of the program is to gain and spread information from professionals and peers about synthetic cannabionid usage. One of the biggest motivation behind "bio-weed" usage is the lack of perceived dangers, which can result unwanted legal conflicts and social and/or health disadvantages. Drug users are one of the mostly stigmatized group in Hungary which results lack of advocacy. By the end of the project we would like to increase the knowledge of the community regarding "bio-weed" and the means of recovery to be able to contribute to an evidence-based discourse on drug use. To be able to reach our goals we gather information from professionals and peers and present it on various media platforms. The program aims to reach experimental users and those who are considering to try "bio-weed" but also tries to offer help for those who seek support in stopping drug use, and offers information on "bio-weed" for those also who do not consider trying it. During the program we connect with many professionals in Hungary and with MÜSZI (community and art floor) and with teenagers in the countryside. Our media partners will be Tilos Radio and Rács FM to be able to spread the gained information about "bio-weed" usage.
Summary of project results
Drug users are one of the most disdained group in Hungary. It seems that consuming any psychoactive substance is part of the mainstream culture but being addicted to them is considered to be the fault of the individual. It is also important that the trends of drug use is changing rapidly for example the age of first usage is decreasing and the number of different substances are growing which leaves everyone without enough information. The consumption of synthetic-cannabionids fits into this framework. Little is known about synthetic-cannabionids but it is sure that it is highly potent and addictive. Our aim was to collect information from professionals and from people with own experience and to investigate the drug use on the countryside among school aged children. We published these data via facebook, youtube, at
www.herballomas.hu and by the help of the media. We believe that our posts and actions reached over 15.000 people and are still constantly refreashing and reaching others.
