Description

Multiple disadvantaged children are unable to handle without professional help situations such as prejudice, discrimination, educational/learning problems, and lack of integration. The aim is to improve their self esteem, educational performance, social skills, reduce prejudice in the society, improve the future perspective of disadvantaged children. The project provides a positive personal/social model by which the project aims at achieving an improved self esteem, experience of success (social and personal levels) and team work, improved social skills, integration and better performance at school. Our activities include controlled, goal oriented discussions, drama pedagogy and media-oriented activities, team building, and turning ideas and emotions into reality by making short movies and organize public media presentations. The target group is multiply disadvantaged young people with Roma origin at the age of 12-13 years. We will cooperate with several partners who share our vision and goals.

Summary of project results

1.Help disadvantaged children in terms of later life, offer them success, reduce negative patterns, give emotional support, reinforce them in their positive identity. 2.With accompaniment until they finish school and extension of applied methods to other classes. Children can apply the acquired knowledge. 3.To shape their and the audience’s way of thinking, unfold creativity, improve cooperation, involve volunteers and we think we achieved these. 4.Children became more cooperative, more active who were passive. Projections and meeting with the audience helped them to become opened. 5.Drama and media activities, 2 four-days media camp, 1 thematic journey to Budapest, 12 short films, 8 public projections. 6.Children: with the help of Primary School of Siklós and Study Hall of Alsószentmárton. Volunteers: with the help of University of Pécs 7.Children became more independent and open. 8.They helped the work with professional experience in connection with drama pedagogy and filmmaking.
