Description

Our aim is the improvement of advocacy work by common national campaigns through strengthening of the Hungarian Anti Poverty Network(HAPN).Introduction of community organizing based on the involvement of the poor people.Throught activities like mobilization of the professional and activist resources of the organizations in and around HAPN in order to have a wide basis for further actions. It will be done development work via the involvement of the organizations like 10 mobilized NGO/community learn how to use the community organizing approach by trainings, study trip and the observation of a pilot project. There will be planning and implementing complex campaigns with participation of involved organizations. We will generate media representation, and newsletters. 100 people will be involved directly and at least 1000 indirectly through other organizations. The target group is those 20 communities/organizations who are interested in advocacy community work (half of them are HAPN members). Our partner is the EAPN Norway.

Summary of project results

Their aim was the improvement of advocacy work by common national campaigns through strengthening of the Hungarian Anti Poverty Network(HAPN). They introduced the method of community organizing based on the involvement of the poor people. The activities: Mobilization of the professional and activist resources of the organizations in and around HAPN in order to have a wide basis for further actions. Development work via the involvement of the organizations: 15 mobilized NGO/community learned how to use the community organizing approach by trainings, study trip and the observation of a pilot project. They implemented 2 complex campaigns with participation of involved organizations, producing media representation, newsletters. 653 people were involved directly and more than 1 million were reached indirectly through other organisations, events and media.In 5 cases they won local and national issues raised by member organizations, which had effect on hundreds of low income households.
