Description

The goal is to create a Roma youth organization, to strengthen their capacity for self-organization, build advocacy skills and establish connections between Roma and Jewish youth. The direct target group is 15-20 students from the 9th-10th grades of Dr. Ámbédkar School in Sajókaza. By using the methods of informal education youth participants are equipped with a practical toolkit for community building and youth leadership, which they can use according to their particular needs. This will be delivered in a series of two-week courses over the two-year project. They will work with mainly Roma and Jewish civil associations with expertise in youth and community organizing. During the two years of the project community-based programs will be organised together with our youth participants and hold three summer camps. We will document and disseminate our work on a homepage and a Facebook page, produce a printed and online publication, make an interactive movie and organize workshops.
