Description

The aim of the project is to introduce a niche service and help the persons with disability and their families to find allowances, and services creating the informational background of the supported decision making. The project will strengthen the capacity of lobbying among the individuals and non-profit organizations and develop their cooperation methods. The direct target group is parents who care for disabled persons and their supporters. Indirectly our target group is the society in general. We will be establishing Informational Centers in 5 disadvantageous regions and involve 5 non-profit organizations and give the know-how to the organizations, train them and create a mentor network, database management, as well as collecting data. Operating a local informational center for those families who raise children with disabilities, by ensuring professional and IT background and a continuous Help Desk. We will create a network model and we will expand it continuously. The quality of life of the target groups will improve and their exclusion diminishes.

Summary of project results

The goal of our project was to develop capacity and strategic maturity of Hand-in-Hand Foundation and 10 civil organizations. We made the everyday activity and the operation more efficient, conscious, proposed and established network connections. The main tools are a website to share information on welfare system’s facilities and build strong network within the partnership. The development elements: •Practical workshops and meeting to build knowledge and network. •Improve database and build more efficient searching systems: info.kezenfogva.hu •Provide and strengthen access to the information, data and contact information of service providers of the welfare systems in relation to disabled children. Civil organizations are advocacy type organizations that are working close to the families of persons with disabilities and facing the deepest problems. As a result we expect the organizations to work more efficiently and communicate better with their target group. This will have an impact on the work of the organizations and user.
