Description
The aim is to provide much needed addictology consultation services in Esztergom, in this way expanding the capacity of consultation services in town. The target group of the project are 12-20 year old youths struggling with addiction-related issues, together with their relatives, and professionals dealing with them. We will conduct several activities like establishment of consultation centre, marketing of our services, providing consultation services with individual sessions, for relatives, for families, via telephone, e-mail, professional counseling. As well as we will relapse prevention group, facilitation of self-help and family groups, cooperation with members of signal detection network and training. A short-term result of the programme is the establishment of much needed addictology services in Esztergom. Furthermore, we wish to strengthen the cooperation results in a more efficient operation of the signal detection network, and with the help of volunteers and self-help groups, an increased level of social responsibility.
Summary of project results
There was no survey in Esztergom to assess drug consumption in the city and its neighbourhood. The city did not have drug ambulance or other assistances, such as community based or low-threshold services. The aim of the project was to fill this gap at least partly, and provide addiction consultancy services in Esztergom. In the project they reached 800 people (addict person, relatives, and professionals) with the services.
