Description

Civic organizations in general and especially in small settlements suffer of lack of resources and capacities. On the other hand, there is great demand for services offered by civic organizations or informal groups for local communities. Through the methodologies to be developed (community based operation, process evaluation), a free educational program and the new structure of our organization we serve the long term objectives of community development in Hungary. Target groups learn to operate their organization and services on a community base; local and professional networks are built; the 3-level model of community development is established in Hungary, new methodologies developed, web pages renewed. We map, train and monitor the organizations, develop our web pages and own organization, develop new methodologies. Target group: civic organizations/groups offering/planning to start community service sin small settlements.

Summary of project results

Civic organizations in general and especially in small settlements suffer lack of resources and capacities. On the other hand, there is great demand for services offered by civic organizations or informal groups for local communities. In order to ensure solution to this problem the project promoter developed methodologies and a free educational program to NGOs and community developers. The project implemented two activity lines. First, the project promoter rebuilded the frames of the professional network of community developers. New operating and maintenance system was designed for the organisation and new professional workgroups were established to aiming searching and adapting new community developmen methods. With this new structure they serve the long term objectives of the profession of community development in Hungary. Secondly, some of the new methods were tested in small communites, where the target groups (small NGOs, informal groups) learned to operate their organization and services on a community base; local and professional networks are built. Due to this the new "3-level model" of community development is established in Hungary. Beside this a webpage for community development was renewed.
