Description

The project involves the monitoring, recording and dissemination of good practices and expertise aiming to capacity building. This aims at maximizing the efficiency of NGOs, local bodies, stakeholders’ and civil society’s interventions and services focusing on prevention and combating the social exclusion of children and youth of disadvantaged social groups of young offenders and young people at risk of offending. This objective will be accomplished through the development of activities involving planning, implementation and evaluation of an integrated model of prevention and dealing with youth offending, by actively involving NGOs and Civil Society.

Summary of project results

European studies’ findings, which were conducted for the efficient planning of the European strategy to reduce social inequalities, to promote equal opportunities, democratic participation and social cohesion, systematically highlight the need and the effectiveness of the development of interventions.The effectiveness of these initiatives, for the empowerment of social cohesion in European societies, are upgraded, when run horizontally. The project’s implementation, contributed to the assessment and development of a holistic model to prevent and address juvenile delinquency and youth at risk of delinquency and / or delinquency recurrence. Therefore, key pillar of the study was the continuous monitoring and improvement of mechanisms and tools, promoting civil society's, volunteer's organizations, youth's and NGOs' , engagement in joint approach and interaction activities with project target groups, in terms of equality, respect and mutual learning. The project contributed to the development of an innovative approach of minors’ juvenile, through a “eco” perspective, by the placement of the challenge, as well as the alternative options, in the “systems” in which they arise. The project created tools that can be used by agencies, organizations, NGOs and collectives operating in the wider area of promoting the participation of youth and upgrading their position in the wider social, economic and political environment. The project "Sy.N.Koinonia In Action", through the completion of the study of a holistic model to prevent and address juvenile delinquency and youth at risk of delinquency , the Guide of Good Practices, the Handbook for Educational Activities on human and children’s rights and the prevention of Minors delinquency, provided education and training to over 100 volunteers, NGO members, mental health professionals, teachers, students etc, 500 people were recipients of new proposals, knowledge and experience in the field of youth social victimization prevention, 400 people participated in awareness campaigns to tackle racism and xenophobia, combating hate speech and promoting human rights.
