Transport systems have much more potential for high quality and resource effective services than today`s solutions enable. The project idea is to develop a software and hardware product for local governments and public transportation companies that allows the bus driver to manage all the specific subsystems of public transport through the tablet, provides the live information and automated data analysis, provides necessary information for reports, allows to interface with national traffic monitoring and management systems and it allows live monitoring of public transport information and timetables. Project activities in the small grant scheme is to analyse the market situation, competitive environment, product specification, business model and to clarify the necessity and feasibility of the project with the wider aim to submit a full application to the open call under the Green Industry Innovation programme.
Summary of project results
The project was needed to develop a software and hardware product for local governments and public transportation companies that enables the bus driver to manage all the specific sub-systems of public transport through the tablet, provides the live information and automated data analysis and allows live monitoring of public transport information and timetables. The objective of this small grant scheme project was to analyse the market situation, competitive environment, product specification, business model and to clarify the necessity and feasibility of the project. Project promoter has presented the results in the final report; hence the objective are considered reached. The outcome of the project is considered fulfilled as the business idea has been thoroughly analysed and project promoter has taken steps towards future developments of the planned solution. The results are sustained through future production and business activities, as project promoter participated in the programme open (main) call together with the donor partner.
