Description
The project is needed to help youth released from special schools to learn social and other skills to behave and live without criminal offences. Also people working with youth in special schools get training-supervision to improve their work. The objective of this project is to develop a systematic follow-up support model, that improves the coping strategies of young people returning from special schools to the society and prevents repeated crimes. In addition, the follow-up support will also include family members through group counselling and engage the young people who have been released from special schools.
Summary of project results
The Project was needed to educate personell of joined special schhols in Estonia. Specialists working with children have changed over the years and new recruits needed more knowledge how to work with children with complicated backround. The Project influences directly how the pupils of the schools will act after leaving, how they will get along with their parents and how parents understand are able to teach children. To achieve the goals following activities were carried out: Group supervisions for specialists from Emajõe and Valgejõe branches of special schools to map the current situation, to get to know their needs for development etc. Created programs for special schools - special supervisions for teachers of special schools, - networking program for teachers, - program to engage parents to school activities, - parents' group counselling program.
