Description

The main aim of the project is to make existing networks stronger and more effective and reduce risk behaviour amoung youngsters. These young people usually live far from centres, have only one parent, and their parents may be unemployed, have had difficulties at school and they also may have had troubles with compliance with the law. The project will focus on risk prevention and strengthening the networks in the county and also at local municipalities in the Rapla county. The project will provide extensive training to improve the professional skills of specialists from local governments. We are going to work out tools for local governments to make networks more effective. Youth workers will learn new skills through supervision. One part of the network is also aimed at parents who will be provided counselling and help.

Summary of project results

The Project was needed to put case-based networks to better use and to engage youth workers into it. The Project took place in 10 local governments and was important to give new knowledge to the communities. Also many youth activities were carried out and youngsters were taught new skills to widen their opportunities to use their spare time. To achieve this following activities were carried out: Training for youth workers - how to create games; Network meeting in Märjamaa; Network meeting in Rapla; Netowrking training - how to start and maintain; Network meeting in Kohila; Training for youth workers - how to talk on sensitiive subjects with youngsters; 2 trainings for youth workers - training on activities to engage children; Networking training on early detection; Summer camp for youngsters; Mid-project seminar; Study visit to Tartu county; Project conference. 90 children took part of activities 60 members of networks took part of trainings 68 children took part of summer camp Satisfaction with the Project activities were average more than 4,5/5.
