Description

The Police of the Czech Republic has been successively involved in the use of common measures in the Schengen acquis and continuously implements its activities into existing or upcoming tools and standards of international police and judicial cooperation as it brings the development of European or national legislation. It is also obliged to fulfill the obligations arising from the concluded international treaties and agreements. The basic objective of the project is to present, through training and education activities and foreign business trips or receiving foreign experts, how particular common European instruments are implemented in the Czech Republic and visited member states of the EU to police officers who ensure performance of international police cooperation agenda. Another objective of the project is to propose appropriate solutions and any necessary software modifications of the existing police information systems used for processing information coming from international exchange criminally police information.

Summary of project results

The Police of the Czech Republic have been implementing tools and standards in the field of international police and judicial cooperation in line with the development of the European and national legislation. The project had contributed to the above mentioned implementation by improving police cross-border cooperation and integration of information platforms which was the main goal of the project. The other part of the project (soft component) consisted in increasing awareness of members and employees of the Police of the Czech Republic in area of the implementation of common European tools necessary for realization of the international police cooperation agenda. During the realization of the project, 15 training events had been carried out for more than 850 police officers and 9 IT courses for 12 IT developers of the Police of the Czech Republic were conducted. 43 police officers were included in 14 working visits to the EU authorities and neighbouring countries, 8 foreign police officers were welcomed during 2 working visits in the Czech Republic. Software modifications consisted in developing solutions enabling the use of standard information platform that was missing before the realization of the project. The project resulted in unified approach, proposal for essential amendments of the two relevant and independently used police registration information systems (EVIN and ETŘ) and the introduction of standardising processes for interactive communication including infrastructure provision, including the acquisition of a new server and client HW features to ensure the operation and integration of the international police cooperation within the frame of the Czech Police.
