Description

The project "Face of Love" for children and youth from 12 to 26, growing up in institutional care or in Child Protection Care is a program for prevention of risky behavior implemented outside of school, aimed at preventing violence and human trafficking. The project will involve community cooperation between the Counseling Center Magdala, which deals with domestic violence and human trafficking, Prague College of Psychosocial Studies, children's homes, NGOs and child protection care. Establishing interdisciplinary cooperation is the goal of the project. The aim is to reduce violence against women and men. The project reaches out to at least 110 children from the target group. At least 96 workshops will be held, an educational module will be created and at least 15 students will be trained, alongside 4 teachers, 2 workers from child protection services, and 10 workers from children's homes.

Summary of project results

This project was focused on children and adolescents aged 12 to 26 growing up in institutional care or in the care of social and legal protection bodies and was aimed at preventing violence and human trafficking. We also wanted to establish long-term interdisciplinary collaboration between the institutions involved in this issue. The project has helped us organise 104 meetings with a total of 155 young people from the target group. We have created a prevention programme and a training module, published a handbook of best practices and preventive posters, and made banners and a film. We have trained 15 students, graduates and instructors. We have collaborated with the counselling centre Magdala, which tackles domestic violence and trafficking; we have also collaborated with the Prague College of Psychosocial Studies, children’s homes and youth secure centres in the Czech Republic, NGOs and the public administration. We have helped to build better awareness of these issues.
