Description

The aim of the project is to continue the already started system of the day-care of children during the educational activities in RC MUM and to develop the idea of the company´s day-care in an NGO. By ensuring the day-care, we will provide an opportunity for active parents to restart their working lives and enable the gradual socialisation of the child and the parents. The idea following the project should be the possibility of offering day-care in a company to other organisations and to provide economic sustainability for this idea.

Summary of project results

Our aim was to build on the already established system of child care in educational activities of the MUM family centre in Prague and further develop the idea of corporate childcare in a non-profit organisation. Over the course of the project, we have provided 808 hours of childcare to 50 MUM staff and volunteers. Some of the nannies had problems reconciling work and family life, as the demand was often concentrated in the afternoon hours; other workers left for jobs with higher hours, so we have raised the number of nurses in the original plan to a total of 12 without any effect on the budget. We have enabled the parents of our pupils to become fully involved in both regular and one-time activities of the centre; extension of the project allowed for the smooth operation of our activities linked to the school year. We have also provided babysitting at seven selected events organised or endorsed by the Prague 20 city district. The parents were very happy with our services, as evidenced by questionnaires. We would like ensure economic sustainability of the idea of babysitting for third parties and establish a child care service for local businesses in the future.
