Summary of project results

The project aimed at solving the challenges facing young people in Yablanitsa Municipality (high unemployment, low education, lack of youth organizations and initiatives). Four initiatives were carried out under the project; they involved young people and were targeted at improving life in Zlatna Panega, Brestnitsa and Oreshene. Initiative groups were set up which have the potential for further civil actions. The project participants took the first steps to joint actions to solve specific issues identified by young and active people who learned that it took time and effort to achieve results. The local administration and village mayors learnt that together with the local community they could achieve more, especially when the ideas for solutions come from the community. The target groups took part in all project stages and benefitted from its results. Two playgrounds and a fence around a park were built under the project in the three places with help from volunteers from the local community.
