Description

The project addresses the need to train showdown and goalball referees and coaches the new rules adopted in 2013 in order to maintain the same good quality of training of blind athletes and organizing international and national competitions in Bulgaria. The project aims at boosting the competence and skills of showdown and goalball coaches from the relevant clubs across the country by organizing training seminars. First, 6 goalball coaches and 14 referees and 10 showdown coaches and 10 referees will be invited to take part in the 2 training seminars. Second, the 2 training seminars will be organized for 20 people each. The project will benefit the coaches and referees trained, blind athletes as well as the organizers and athletes in national and international competitions.

Summary of project results

In order to achieve the main goal of the project, organised were two seminars: one for showdown and one for goalball. As a result, the skills and motivation of the participating sports specialists were increased. The project’s participants were 20 showdown specialists and 20 goalball specialists in 11 sports clubs in the country. In order for the seminars to be most effective both of them had a theoretical and a practical part, where participants were able to ask their questions, see their lector’s examples and demonstrate their own skills. That’s why in the practical part of the seminars invited were visual impaired sportsmen from Sofia, who participated in demonstrative training sessions.
