Description
The project addresses the challenged social adaptation of young people placed in institutions in the town of Ruse and dependent on residential care. The project aims at improving their social, communicative and professional skills through trainings and interactive activities. First, interactive group sessions on social integration, practical skills for life and life outside the institution will be carried out. Second, the young people will be able to communicate with other people during 2 outings. Finally, the young people will be able to meet former residents of social institutions who will share their success stories with them as well as potential employers. The project will benefit the young people involved in the project, their caregivers as well as the local community in general by increasing their chances to find a job and make a living outside the institution.
Summary of project results
The project implementation had positive impact on 23 disadvantaged young people who are users of residential care services in Ruse District. The training sessions on carefully selected topics, the meetings with employers and people previously placed in social institutions who overcame their social exclusion helped young people with courage and knowledge about the labour market, everyday planning and better social adaptation. The main methods and tools used during the activities included informal education, group work and role-playing. Facebook page with information about the project:
