Description
The main objective of the project proposal is to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution in the heating of municipal buildings with a social focus in the municipality of Zlatitsa. Specific measures to achieve this objective are: - Replacement of gasoline boiler with a boiler on biomass (wood pellets) and build a solar hot water installation at Kindergarten "Faith, hope and love", Zlatitsa; - Replacement of gasoline boiler with a boiler on biomass (wood pellets) and build a solar hot water installation in School "Paisij Hilendarski" - extension, Zlatitsa. In addition, the project aims to increase the knowledge and awareness of renewable energy and energy efficiency measures in the municipality.
Summary of project results
The main goal of the project “Promotion of energy efficiency and renewable energy measures in the municipal buildings and local heating systems in Zlatitsa Municipality” had been achieved. The implementation of the activities contributed to the achievement of the project's objectives - utilization of renewable energy for heating in the two buildings of Kindergarten Faith, Hope and Love and High School "Paisii Hilendarski", reduction of CO2 emissions into the environment and significant savings through the introduction of modern high-efficiency heating systems. The envisage results are: - Expected increase of energy produced from renewable sources - 481 633 Wh / year out of total energy needed - 612 340 Wh / yr. - Expected reduction of CO2 emissions - 185.28 tCO2. The target groups directly benefiting from the project results are the children from the Kindergarten Faith, Hope and Love and High School "Paisii Hilendarski” and staff that are working in them. Indirectly, the implementation of the project also benefits the entire population of Zlatitsa Municipality. In order to achieve the planned results the following outputs were delivered resulting from the main activities financed by the project: - A new installation, significantly more efficient than the existing heating installation was built in the two buildings of the Faith, Hope and Love Kindergarten; - A new highly efficient pellet boiler was installed in the Faith, Hope and Love Kindergarten; - A solar installation for domestic hot water was installed in the Faith, Hope and Love Kindergarten; - A new, highly efficient pellet boiler was installed at Paisii Hilendarski High School - extension; - A solar installation for domestic hot water was installed in Paisii Hilendarski High School - extension.
