Description

Bridging Squares is a bilateral initiative between Kraft, Bergen and Victoria Square Project, Athens. The focal point will be linking in the public dialogue Market Square (in front of Kraft) and the Victoria Square (where VSP’s main idea began, through possible artistic commission, public programs or a joint residency, while engage with

Summary of the results

This initiative focused on the exchange between the two partner organizations, aiming for collaboration and the development of a joint project. The starting point was the “Station One AIR Hippodamia in Context” Artist in Residence program, implemented by the Victoria Square Project in 2021, which invited visual artists to work with community participatory methods around the Hippodamia sculpture in Athens. The potential for a similar project in Bergen, linked to the Ludvig Holberg Statue, was discussed. As part of the initiative, the two Directors visited each other, explored the local context, met their respective teams, and identified points of common interest. Additionally, a networking program was organized in both locations, focusing on financial considerations, funding possibilities, and future collaboration.
