Description

This project focuses on empowering and educating the residents of the Danube Gorge rural area, encompassing approximately 25,000 inhabitants across two Romanian counties, to initiate social enterprises or associations that harness green energy as a catalyst for local development. It addresses the region''s limited capacity for collaborative social business initiatives and a lack of awareness and utilization of green and renewable energy resources. Through a bilateral partnership and a series of targeted objectives, the project aims to create a transformative synergy, building competencies in green energy and social entrepreneurship, and facilitating the establishment of associative structures within the local communities. The ultimate goal is to initiate a significant shift in the micro-region''s approach to sustainable development, benefiting not only the direct project participants but also the broader local population, communities, and administrations of the Danube Gorge.

Achieving these goals requires a variety of key activities, including:

- Micro-Regional researches

- Training and Study Visits

- Project Management

- Project Publicity

This project also has a strong bilateral component that aims tocontribute to the development of the bilateral relations between Romania and Norway by creating a stable and long-term cooperation relation. The project will be the basis for further cooperation between the Project Promoter and the Donor Partner, as the two organizations are keen on continuing their cooperation.
