Summary of project results

The Let''s Get to Know Each Other project involved a series of activities involving Ukrainian students staying in the Pomeranian Voivodeship in building the local environment and strengthening social integration by conducting theater classes in intercultural education, as well as activities promoting Ukrainian culture. The project was also intended to activate Polish students and teachers, increasing the level of awareness and empathy regarding the needs and problems of foreigners. We wanted to avoid the terms migrant or refugee, in favor of getting to know ourselves from our strengths and strengthening our self-esteem. The project responded to the problem of lack of intercultural awareness among Poles and, consequently, stigmatization of people coming to us from other countries. We included those interested in educational events (workshops for children and youth, seminar for Polish and Ukrainian educators) and cultural events (Ukrainian Culture Day). The main recipients were students and teachers - Polish and Ukrainian. Ukrainian Culture Day was an event for families with children - Ukrainian and Polish, as well as for all lovers of learning about other cultures.

During the implementation of the project, we managed to reach groups: children, youth, students, families with children, educators and teachers, and NGOs from Pomerania.

We took into account equal opportunities in our activities by involving both Polish-speaking and non-Polish-speaking foreigners in the project

Polish. We informed about our activities in the project in Polish and Ukrainian.
